5:50 pm,
Saturday,
In a land near the
equator,
A torrential downpour
has just swept through the dust
Leaving its cool
remnant to settle in our hearts,
The cendol sellers
have just packed their
Roadside stall into
their pick-up,
Securing a rope
‘round the back of the truck,
Believers in luck
Are scrambling out to
bet on numbers
Before the lottery
closes for the day,
I drive home with
Bag Of Chicken Baked In Cheese.
Waiting to welcome me
home is
Milk Tea.
The world has left me
alone…
But it peeps on me through the internet.
