Who would have thought
about Chopsticks,
The laughs when learning
to hold two sticks
Finely carved, though
could be a handful of tricks,
Who would have known with
every sound of its clicks,
Its story, its journey,
each rice bowl it digs,
Might have been an idea
by a simpleton who seeks
With each passing day,
just to survive the weeks,
But instead, an empire it
sustained, not with bricks,
But with pillars between
our fingers that pick
Grains and meat to fatten
our cheeks.
